Hey everyone, welcome to the Addis Culunary review. This a blog dedicated to reviewing the up and coming dining places in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The first place I will be reviewing is Moyo's Cafe.
Moyo's is located in an area commonly referred to "Chichinia", Opposite Yoly Building. The cafe is situated a little bit far down from the main street, being not too crowded, with moderate background noise. That coupled with the Green walls and furniture give Moyo's a peaceful atmosphere and make it cozy. The cafe has a distinctive "Green" theme and offers a wide variety of healthy snacks, meals, smoothies, salads and deserts.
Moyo's is also known for its pancakes and waffles served with syrup and Nutella, so it's also a good place to indulge in something sweet once in a while. Furthermore, the cafe has a a wide range of up to-date magazines and is inviting to anyone who likes to read and reflect while having coffee. The staff is very friendly and well mannered and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Moyo's also provides customers with a Secure, password protected Wi-fi.
I went to Moyo's on several occasion and have the opportunity to try some of their dishes.
Their breakfast menu consists of Waffles, Pancakes, Crepes, French Toast, Oat Meal, and Omelet
with different toppings. In my personal opinion, the breakfast meals are heaven to my taste buds and wont break my bank while doing so as the meals average at about 30ETB(1.55 USD). The Pancakes (Pictured above), the French Toast ( Pictured on the right) and the Waffle (Pictured below) are served neatly with an assortment of toppings which in my case were bananas, strawberries and maple syrup.

The Veggie Omelet is served with toast and freshly squeezed orange juice. It was simple and delicious and reminded me of the ones my mother used to make while I was growing up. While the Latte I ordered was made to my specific instructions and tasted like a sip of heaven, the Muffin was rather mediocre and ordinary. Moyo's has yet to improve on their breakfast pastries but everything else on the breakfast menu was excellent.
The second Menu (Available after 11AM) features a wide variety of Salads, Sandwiches, Juice and other beverages. I have not yet had the time to try out every meal like the breakfast menu but I have tried the Cheese Burger which is served with a side of french fries and a salad. The burger and fries were better than I expected. They tasted great and were not greasy at all. And the salad was perfect in its simplicity.
The sandwiches are served with an option of White, Whole Wheat and Barley bread depending on the customers dietary needs and the Juice is freshly made right before your eyes. Below are the menus for Moyo's Cafe, and I strongly recommend this cafe as it is inexpensive and suitable for everyone. Whether it is a shot of espresso or a Steak Sandwich you desire, Moyo's is the place to go.
